DEATHDRIFT - Debut Album Out Now And Available For Streaming

German mysterious occult post-industrial duo Deathdrift just self released the debut full-length entitled Liminal Nocturnes. The album featuring nine tracks transports you to a dark place. On Deathdrift’s debut harsh electronics and minimal melodies meet claustrophobic psychedelia somewhere between the digital and spiritual-a sonic art that is visionary and introspective, yet straight into the face.

Even though their doom-laden songs are rather short in nature the two Germans are more concerned with energy and icy atmosphere than with writing hits for the dancefloors. While guitar does not appear throughout, the album showcases musical versatility by the means of hard electronic drums, driving layering synths, piano and evocative vocals in compositions that are cinematic and heavy, both dissonant and eerily catchy.

SH comments: “In darkness lies a beauty that is often hidden and barely visible, but it is still there. We tried to capture this darkness in all its splendour, mystery and atmosphere. But creating this album has never been easy. We fought many battles, which in the end we both have won. Neither of us could have made this record on their own - and that‘s the real beauty.”

Founded in 2020, the two-piece from Cologne, city of electroacoustic spearhead Karlheinz Stockhausen, 80s dark wave culture, kraut rock legends CAN and never-ending underground raves–feed on their local subcultural influences as much as on their own rather crude combination of preferences to create their own bleak and powerful brand of electronic nighttime music.
