German post-black metal outfit Heretoir breaks its silence by unveiling a new single and video - "Anima". The stunning track is from its upcoming mini-album Wastelands, due on 19 May via AOP Records.
 
Heretoir on "Anima": "'Anima' deals with the urge to free yourself from the iron shackles society puts on us humans. Our true inner potential is kept suppressed by 24-7 pressure to perform and numbing consumerism. 'Anima' can be understood as a scream to 'free your mind and live your life to the fullest'".

Combining emotional and atmospheric elements of black metal with progressive rhythm-laden modern metal structures and the beauty of post-rock and shoegaze, Heretoir is a nostalgic, melancholic and soothing soundtrack in a mad world. Founded (in Augsburg, Germany) by David C. in 2006, Heretoir conceptually and lyrically deals with existence, self-reflection, fears and dreams - life in all its facets. It is a musical universe set for the discovery of one's deepest thoughts and the soul that rests in each of us.
