DANDELION WINE - Presents First Single And Video From Forthcoming Album

Australian dark dream folk ensemble Dandelion Wine released "Faerie Lullaby", the first single from their forthcoming album Hereafter which is independently out on the coming solstice, the 22nd of June. "Faerie Lullaby" finds Dandelion Wine at its transportive best, conjuring medieval visions juxtaposed with contemporary synthesis, a dream lens for their dream folk-pop. It's a sound that has seen them accumulate frequent flyer miles from nine European tours, along with journeys to Japan, Hong Kong and many destinations in their home country.

"Faerie Lullaby" rides a positively feudal groove, looped electronics and hand percussion propel while traditional strings and wind provide patinated colour, texture and feel. Based on text from Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream and ripe with whimsy and lore, "Faerie Lullaby" is time travel to an arcane place where a long-forgotten power source feeds electronics as they naturally become part of the ancient assembly.

Dandelion Wine comments: "We've always been interested in contrasting the old with the new, so when we started experimenting more with lyrics from medieval times for Hereafter, it was a natural choice to choose a Shakespeare text, not just because of its meter, which obviously works well with music, but because his imagery creates such a particular mood and we thought that would really add to the music and suit what we do."

"Faerie Lullaby" comes with an equally atmospheric video that was the result of a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Naomi Henderson and the band's long time photographer Colin Page. Hear it and watch the video right below. Link
