Dutch blackened death metallers Onheil have unleashed a new single and animated visualizer, "Bloodthirst". The third single from their upcoming third album, In Black Ashes, will be out on all digital platforms on Friday, 2 June, while In Black Ashes will see the light of day on 23 June via recently signed with Black Lion Records.
Onheil's vocalist/guitarist Amok on "Bloodthirst": "'Bloodthirst' is a raging blackened death metal track that tries to capture the feeling of the primal aggressive tendencies that humanity can't seem to lose, with both the horror and sadness that it brings. For this reason, the song sounds part furious and deadly, part depressive and damned. I am the warlord... of damnation! I guess that intro sentence says it all!"
Onheil has been spreading its furious melodic black and death metal since 1999. Its debut in 2009, Razor, was met with huge critical success and brought the band to new heights from the underground, making a name for itself. With intense touring and live appearances. After some line-up changes and Corona pandemic setbacks, Onheil is back with a new strong line-up and a newly recorded album, In Black Ashes, mixed and mastered by legendary producer Dan Swanö at the Unisound Studios (Dissection, Opeth, Dark Funeral, Bloodbath, Marduk, Insomnium), vocals and drums recorded by Jonathan Merrelaar at the Red Pack Studios (Picture), and guitar recordings were assisted by Bart Hennephof (ex-Textures.) at the Creative Music Lab.
The visualizer video, single and album artwork was created by artist Lordigan Pedro Seno, who worked before with bands and artists like Amon Amarth, Kreator, Decapitated and Matt Heafy (Trivium). The animation is done by Cloud Music Typography, who has done videos before for Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Mayhem, Napalm Death, Naglfar, Dark Fortress and Archspire.
Also, on the In Black Ashes release day, the band prepares a special live show at the Bibelot venue in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. Fenris and Mask Of Insanity will be the support acts that evening.
First thing first, "Bloodthirst"... Link
