Belarusian dark post-metal duo Dymna Lotva has shared a harsh video for the single "Hell" (Пекла) from its upcoming full-length, The Land Under The Black Wings: Blood (Зямля Пад Чорнымі Крыламі: Кроў), set for release on the 4 August through recently signed with Prophecy Productions.
Dymna Lotva's vocalist Katsiaryna "Nokt Aeon" Mankevich comments on "Hell" (Пекла): "This song tells the story of a mother, who lost her children at war. She survived but the trauma had burned itself into her memories forever. She was stuck in her personal hell for the remainder of her life".
The video was filmed on location at the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle. All the buildings shown in it are authentic - built from the 18th until the early 20th century. The youngest house dates from 1932 and all of them were moved to the museum in the 1970s. The video is quite personal for the band's videographer Jay Flokker as her grandmother lost a three-year-old child during the occupation of Belarus in World War II, which died from cold and starvation. Parts of the lyrics come from a Belarusian and Ukrainian folk song.
