Nordic folk/pagan metallers Vansind have released a brand new single and lyric video "Blót". The single is taken from Vansind's upcoming debut full-length entitled Mørket, which will be released via Mighty Music on the 17th of November.
The song is about the old Nordic blót tradition. Here we call upon the Nordic gods for good luck in both wartime and peace, so that both outgoing warriors and homelands are safe and sound. A drink is poured and the drinking horn is passed around in an honorable exchange between gods and men.
"Blót" is a calmer and more folk music-inspired song, but still with the well-known Vansind sound and mix of clean vocals and deep growls, the listener is once again taken into the recognizable text and sound universe.
Vansind was formed in the summer of 2019 as a folk-inspired metal band. The band is based in Slagelse, Denmark, though the members are from all over the country. Just as the members' geographical difference their musical background is also vastly different (with members of Panzerchrist, Iron Fire, Vanir, Detest and Mindmare gracing the line-up), they share their love for the music and a wish to add something special to the Danish folk scene.
