KASA DE ORATES - Unveils Second Track From Forthcoming Album

Kasa de Orates, the musical project of prolific Chilean musician and producer Manuel Knwell, has offered the second track, "Rituale" from its forthcoming album, The Golden Hour, set for release in the first half of 2024.

The concept for The Golden Hour approaches humanity's current state, a state of abysmal decay, submerged in technocracy, where politicians seem to live in a parallel reality as compared to the common people: highlighting the absolute lack of commitment regarding nature and environmental problematics, but not lacking small glimpses of hope.

The Golden Hour represents the most complex album that Knwell has brought into being so far: whether it is because of the large number of guest musicians or the challenge of having to fuse all of the ideas concerning the record. "It's impossible to become lost in oneself in reaction to all of what we're going through today. It is painful to think about the future of childhoods, and above all that of nature and animals: since never before had we experienced something similar, never before had existed so much hunger for power and rotting souls, or so much emptiness in tools such as internet, which we think of as if it contained 'everything'. However, the only thing we've accomplished is complete ignorance and the anesthetization of our souls through drugs and social media: they gave 'children' the perfect toy."

The Golden Hour is a conceptual album with the distinctive feature of having every music style Manuel has impregnated his project with for the past fifteen years: trip-hop, industrial, dark ambient, noise, dark wave, ethnic music, drone, IDM and even folk, including a variety of voices as Knwell had never portrayed in any of his works to date. He made use of sounds such as whale's cries, samples of musicians who have fallen into "madness", like Syd Barrett or Daniel Johnston, and legendary synths Yamaha CS10 and SY77, ranging from electric guitars in C sharp tuning to ancestral instruments from different latitudes and ethnicities. All of this, to achieve unique atmospheres, generates an intimate space, which can provide the listener with well-being and a real placebo.

Alejandra Vásquez was in charge of the album cover artwork. It took months of working aside Alejandra to depict what Manuel had in mind. "It had to be something powerful, attention-drawing and unique! Alejandra was the perfect artist." Manuel undertook the composition, edition, mixing, mastering, and production.

The second unveiled album's track, "Rituale", features members of the Italian project Ataraxia (Francesca Nicoli and Vittorio Vandeli) and session drummer and percussionist Oscar Hernández (Phuyu y la fantasma, Javiera Electra, etc.). "Rituale" shows that ethnic/ritualistic/shamanic from Kasa de Orates, and, alongside the members of Ataraxia's voices, they achieved a musical alchemy worthy of aboriginal people.

Now, "Rituale"... Link
