Czech dark/atmospheric/post-rock project Postcards From Arkham just released a new video clip for the track "Aeon Echoes". The track is the first single from their upcoming album entitled ÆØN5 which shall be released by MetalGate Records in September 2015. Video was directed by Martin Ferko and Marek Frodys Pytlik, who tried to take the listener in some really strange places, imagine Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, a fairytale world permeated with Tim Burton-esque aesthetics and with the universal chaos of H. P. Lovecraft. And it is only up to you whether you will disappear entirely in this void of meaninglessness, or whether your mind is open enough so that you are able to see things in a different, radically even, light.
"Likewise, we shall leave its meaning to the imagination of each and every one of you. In any case, this piece represents the first preview of the new composition of Postcards From Arkham which will attain its definitive form on the upcoming second studio album ÆØN5, and which leaves a strictly Lovecraftian framework, that is, enriches it with other themes and motifs", comments the band. The new material, “Aeon Echoes”, took shape in the MetalGate Studio, where all instrumentation and orchestration was recorded and where the final mix and mastering is now being done, as well as in the GM Studio, where the vocals were taped. These were undertaken by Ivo Doseděl, the vocalist of Ador Dorath, whose unmistakable voice will embody the narrator guiding you not only through the single, but through the whole album. Along with the release of the single, MetalGate e-shop launched pre-orders of the ÆØN5 album in two editions. The standard one features the album itself in a richly illustrated digibook, while the special one adds unique pre-order bonuses, specifically a real postcard from Arkham, a stylish guitar pick, and most importantly a real tentacle, canned and edible – import straight from R’lyeh from the mighty Cthulhu himself.
