NICK MARSH - Flesh For Lulu Singer And Guitarist Passed Away

Nick Marsh, the founder, vocalist and lead guitarist of London based one of the architects of the original gothic rock style Flesh For Lulu and lead guitarist in The Urban Voodoo Machine passed away this morning. Flesh For Lulu were formed in 1980 and split up in 1998. In 2013 Nick reformed the band with a new line up including Will Crewdson (guitar) Mark Bishop (drums) and Keith McAndrew (bass). Nick was born in 1962 and was a father to two children, he was married to Katharine Blake, also a talented singer and musician, known for her work in Mediaeval Baebes and Miranda Sex Garden. Nick and Katharine also had together a folk/blues/psychedelic project named From The Deep
Last March, the Marsh family received the devastating news that Nick had aggressive throat and mouth cancer. He underwent serious, invasive surgery, followed by months of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. When the news came that Nick almost beaten the cancer then in February this year sad news followed, just a day before his birthday, Nick and Katharine were told that Nick's cancer is back. This is the message from his family: "Sadly, Nick lost his fight this morning. He passed peacefully away, with Kat by his side holding his hand. A massive thank you to everyone who has shown support, in so many ways, to Nick, Kat and their beautiful girls. We've lost a good'un." Rest in peace Nick! Link
