Bordeaux (France) based synthpop/new wave act Black Bug teamed up with Avant! Records for the release of new 7 inch Frozen Energy/Push You. Back in 2008 Avant! second release ever was Black Bug debut single I Don’t Like You, a two-song synthpunk little masterpiece. Through the years the band led by polistrumentist Ruslav has moved from Sweden to Bordeaux and went under a few line-up changes, while releasing two albums on Eighteen Records and Hozac. This year Avant! and the band got back in touch and agreed it was time to put out one more piece of 7-inch wax.
The label comments: "So it is a real thrill for us to welcome back Black Bug and to announce their new single Frozen Energy. Featuring vocals by Shawn Foree from synth-punk legends Digital Leather, this new two-song reestablishes the savage force of the band while at same time probing some previously unknown areas. Just take a listen to the mournful guitar arpeggio on "Push You" and you’ll feel what we feel. A perfect balance of straightforward, stripped-down synthetic punk and a glance to the dark side of early UK post-punk."
