SIMON MANNING - Founding Member Of Children On Stun And Grooving In Green Passed Away

We at Terra Relicta are saddened to announce that Simon Manning, the founding member of British goth rock legends Children On Stun and one of the two founders of groove gothsters Grooving In Green passed away this Saturday morning in his sleep. His close friends describe Simon as a popular character in the gothic music scene, a very kind and careing guy and will be sorely missed by all those that knew or loved him... Simon founded Children On Stun together with Neil Ash, Simon Treen and Pete Finnemore in 1991, the band released five albums, a couple of EP's, live album, demos,... and then disbanded in 1998. The band recently reformed and had their reunion show on 15 May 2015 which was sold out at the o2 Academy2 in Islington, London. In 2009 Simon Manning together with Pete Finnemore founded Grooving In Green. Simon then in December 2012 left the band due to issues of distance and dedicating more time to his personal life. Note also that Grooving In Green were hit a couple of days ago by a sudden death of their drummer Thomas T Cat (read the article over HERE).
Children On Stun member Kyle Whipp posted next words on their Facebook site: "It's with immense sadness and a heavy heart that I share this post with you. Our dearest friend and Stun guitarist Simon has passed away. I cannot find the words. Last week we wrote new songs and were full of hope and excitement for the next chapter. Today myself and Neil are consumed with grief. Our thoughts are with his wife Cissie and his family. So many good times & so many memories will stay with us forever. Goodbye mate, you truly rocked and we are so pleased that we got to do it again."
Our sincere condolences goes to Simon's wife Cissie, his family, close friends and to everybody who shared some moments with him in this life. Simon, Rest in Peace.
