As it was announced some weeks ago, that Norwegian viking metallers Mistur will release their highly anticipated second album this year, now the band and their label Dark Essence Records revealed some further details about it. The follow up to the band's critically acclaimed 2009 debut Attende, entitled In Memoriam, will hit the streets on the 29th April.
Having already debuted the opening track from the album (which can be heard over HERE), Mistur have today revealed a second track in the form of a lyric video. The video by Marte Ø Kornerud for the track "Distant Peaks" includes cover art and portraits by Bjarne Egge, and nature photography by Marte and Liv Ø Kornerud. Album was recorded at the Conclave and Earshot Studios in Bergen, and in the band's private studio, In Memoriam was produced by Mistur main man Espen Bakketeig and mixed by Bjørnar E. Nilsen. The album bears all the hallmarks of Mistur's special brand of sognametal, this time with longer, more epic songs, complex layered arrangements, clever melodies and a touch of progressive elements, whilst never losing the unique sognametal style that lies at the very heart of the band.
