Chilean guitarist/vocalist Juan Pablo Nuñez (ex-Bloody Torture and ex-Swarm Of Hatred) and German-based bassist/vocalist Alvaro Lillo (ex-Execrator, Undercroft, Watain-live) have joined forces in 2014 to conjure a dark, raw and malefic black-metal. They named the project Xalpen. This is a raw black metal manifestation that emerges with real conviction and complete devotion by channelling ritualistic vibrations within the black arts and spirituality, guided by ancient traditions of the dark knowledge. Euphoria, ecstasy, trance and satanic commitment have taken form between two different hemispheres of the planet, Chile and Germany.
Xalpen will release a mini album entitled Black Rites on 6th September via Morbid Skull Records. Black Rites was recorded in Santiago de Chile at Necrotic Studio by Benjamin Berrantes and additionally recorded, mixed and mastered in Hamburg, Germany by Pedro Aravena, Black Rites offers six tracks of pure, fierce and demoniacal black metal that will surely impress fans of Inquisition, Bölzer and Horna.
