This album came to define goth rock when it was released in 1982, and catapulted The Cure to their present infamy. For their latest collection, the esteemed blog has enlisted eight of contemporary post punk and deathrock's finest to bring a fresh take on this legendary album - Annex, Lunch, Flowers And Fire, Curezum, Kaspar Hauser, Aztec Death, Ambersmoke and Hide. These bands are vital to the post-punk revival, and show us why they are featured on this compilation.
The CVLT Nation Sessions is a musical project with the aim of reinterpreting iconic music that has influenced a wide spectrum of genres, while also widening the audience for the participating bands. CVLT Nation has recruited some of its favorite underground heavy bands from around the world to record covers for free distribution and download via CVLTNation.com.
