EMPUSAE - New Album Out In April, Excerpt Available For Streaming

Empusae
, Belgium based act which blends elements of ambient, doom, electro-acoustic, post-industrial,... will release their new album entitled Lueur on 7th April via Consouling Sounds. Empusae has been paving the way for many years know, resulting in the release of one critically acclaimed album after another. The main man, Nicolas Van Meirhaeghe aka Sal-Ocin, is also a much valued contributor and member of a great myriad of acts, like for instance Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Onus and Barst just to name a few. Although his music warrants a broad appeal, Empusae is best known in the dark electronica scene. With the release of this deeply personal album, Lueur, Empusae is breaking out of these confines for sure. Lueur most definitely sounds unmistakably like Empusae, but the dark and brooding drone palette expands his sound tremendously. Testament to the gap Empusae bridges on this new album are the guest vocals of Chve (Amenra, Sembler Deah, Kingdom, Chve,...). Chve's characteristic vocal approach gives the music an extra sense of grief and longing, lending the music an extra urgency. When listening to Empusae's music, you're lost in dark melancholy, tribal electronic atmospheres and scary ambient rituals. This tale about darkness and light will not leave you unmoved and is bound to linger in your mind. Lueur consists of two lenghty tracks and in the player below you can give a listen to an eight minute long excerpt of the track named "Guiding Light". Link
