The mysterious Romanian/German black metal duo The Wake, who recently signed with Loud Rage Music for release of their debut album, Earth's Necropolis, this autumn, just released the first track named "The Painter Of Voices". The band also unveiled the front cover artwork of Earth's Necropolis, which was done by Travis Smith who has done work for many established rock and metal bands, including Death, Devin Townsend, Katatonia, The Foreshadowing, Nevermore, Opeth, Anathema, and King Diamond among others.
The Wake plays black metal having Dissection, Venom and Bathory as main inspiration, but their style reminds of some of the biggest Scandinavian names (Immortal, Darkthrone, Dark Funeral) and shows also a powerful melancholic side, which resembles the British premiere league of dark and depressive music (old Anathema, My Dying Bride, Cradle Of Filth).
