THAKANDAR - Debut Album Out In Few Weeks, First Single Available For Streaming

German melodic black metallers Thakandar will release their debut full-lenght album entitled Sterbende Erde on 20th October via Einheit Produktionen. After the release of their first demo in 2009 and an EP in 2011, the five musicians have taken a long time to compose a full-length album with selected songs and a strong atmosphere. It was especially important that the songs complement each other to tell a whole story. Album was recorded, mixed and mastered in November 2016 at Klangschmiede Studio E under the direction of black metal mastermind Markus Stock (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak, Sun Of The Sleepless).
In addition to the band members several guest musicians were also involved in the recordings. On the only track featuring English lyrics, "Signal Of Sorrow", Lestaya (Ferndal) contributed a cello performance, which was recorded in the band´s rehearsal room. You can hear the voice of Ricarda Krabbemeyer on the songs "Hinter dem Schatten" and "Signal Of Sorrow". She also recorded the piano on "Todesmarsch II: Verbannung". Furthermore, there are keyboard parts performed by Alboin (Eïs, Ferndal) on the tracks "Sterbende Erde", "In der Asche der Alten" and "Todesmarsch II: Verbannung".
A special lyrical concept runs like a red thread through all titles: In a post-apocalyptic world the last scattered remnants of human civilization fight for their survival. The listener gradually realizes that mankind is responsible for its failures and after every new beginning is doomed again by decadence, waste and greed. The album Sterbende Erde is a work full of figuarative metaphors and a decent portion of social criticism. Combined with melodic black metal, which is not only suitable for fans of the genre, but also for newcomers. Listen to the track named "Hinter dem Schatten" in the player below. Link
