French black metallers Hyrgal will release their debut album entitled Serpentine on 28th October via Naturmacht Productions. Heathen, organic and personal; deeply dedicated to the roots and the old expressions of the dark art. The alpine spirit, and the folklore inherited from french past legacies are the main influences on this album. In the margin of this new age of musical experiences, and this modern world.
Hyrgal was formed in 2007 by guitarist/vocalist Clément Flandrois (Pillars, Oorthian, ex-Svart Crown) with the help of Quentin Aberne (Carchol, ex-Sun Preachers, ex-Marble Chariot) on bass and Thibault Meunier (ex-Otargos) behind the drums. They released their first Demo on a split album shared with Kairn (acoustic project of the former Otargos guitarist, Julien Savy). Then the band was then put on hold in 2010 for personal reasons and Clément joined Svart Crown as a full time guitarist.
In 2016, Clément decides to relaunch the project with a new drummer with whom he got closer since 2012, Emmanuel Zuccaro (Oorthian, ex-Karne, ex-Sulphureign), and still Quentin on bass. The full length Serpentine is then recorded at the Southern Ritual Studio during December 2016 and January 2017, and the mix and mastering was done by Déhà at the HH studio during May 2017.
