German dark rock/gothic metal combo Mystigma will release a new album entitled Unter Wölfen on 28th September through Timezone Records. Since 2005 the brothers Torsten and Jörg Bäumer perform as Mystigma - together with bass player Stephan and drummer Malte. Now, their fifth studio album Unter Wölfen ("among wolves") is born. The creative brothers and their band colleagues secluded themselves in their own studio to write a new chapter to their Mystigma-story. Focussing on their personal preferences and roots, characterized by melancholy and somberness, they have created a 12-song-piece which has to be described as the temporary peak of their discography.
The basic foundation and focus of the new album, Unter Wölfen, is still Torsten Bäumer's recognizable voice with its strong character singing all German lyrics again – but there are new developments. While the band talks about personal experiences and observations, you'll find an increase of social criticism, which sometimes leaves a scope for interpretation and sometimes is uncompromisingly straightforward. In this constantly changing world, shaped by a noticeable brutalization of society, there are quite a few people feeling as lambs among wolves. The front cover artwork of the album can be seen below.
