Florida (USA) based dark progressive metal duo Sumptus Ignis will release their debut full-length entitled Ambition on 5th November. The band now unveiled the track named "Sacred Alchemy" and you can hear it in the player below, as well you can watch the playthrough video for the track "Crusader (The Purge)".
Sumptus Ignis formed in South Florida in 2016 by Joshua Wojtaszek and Bryn Schurman as a side project of Identity Collapse. They crystallized around the idea of fusing various flavors of extreme metal with industrial electronica, ambient synths and progressive rock bombast. Multi-instrumentalists both, Josh and Bryn wanted to compose songs for this new project with a more cinematic approach, and without getting boxed into the roles of their previous bands.
In March of 2017, Sumptus Ignis released their debut EP titled Seasons Of Attrition. The four tracks move through many distinct moods and styles over the course of 29 minutes, providing a journey full of peaks and valleys, tension and release. The upcoming album, Ambition, is six tracks and 44 minutes of music that defies easy categorization. Like Sumptus Ignis say, they were influenced in the creation of Ambition mostly by bands like: Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, Ayreon, November’s Doom, Blind Guardian, Wintersun, Strapping Young Lad, Van Der Graaf Generator, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Fates Warning, Swallow The Sun and Epica.
