The Dutch newcomers to the scene, Dool, comes in a really striking way. It's more than sure that fans of now defunct band The Devil's Blood will find many things to their liking in this music, but the versatile nature of Dool's music is soo very broad that also fans of classic hard rock, gothic rock/pop, alternative rock, doom metal, heavy metal and psychedelic metal will find plenty of things to explore. It's nothing strange that some said that Dool's music is a strange marriage of The Sisters Of Mercy and Sonic Youth in the first place.

They have their own style, setting up a new reference point for dark music fans. When you start listening to this album, you realize that you are in front of something special, its intense atmosphere builds a way of escape for your mind.

British cult electro band Massive Ego made really a massive album this time. The four guys from London put together a double album which is so very versatile and lush, full of electro-pop anthems, actually 19 of them, plus seven remixes. Massive Ego don't only justify the band name by the massive content of the album, but also with lyrical content which deals with the world where people define themselves through the amount of likes for their newest selfie and where unattainable beauty-standards are created through the means of plastic surgery and photoshopping, yet the band takes a deeper glimpse into the mirror to rediscover the healthy patina beneath the fake facade.

Wolcensmen debut, Songs From The Fyrgen, is something of an epic heathen folk or dark folk album. The music, quite cinematic in execution, brings to mind images of victory parties in old world England, after the defeat of a sworn enemy. It is huge in its delivery, and yet somehow Wolcensmen only consists of one full-time member. With a genre-bending release that evokes thoughts of glorious battles, old gods and brotherly kin-ships which are all so far flung from our current lives it is no surprise that Songs Of The Fyrgen has been so well received. Albums like this don't come along everyday, we are looking at a classic in the making.
