WIDDENDREAM - Exclusive Premiere Of The Song From Upcoming Debut Album

Terra Relicta webmagazine is proud to offer you an exclusive streaming premiere of the song "End Of An Age" of the San Francisco, Bay Area, USA, based darkwave/synthpop duo Widdendream. The song is taken from their forthcoming debut album entitled In The Night which will be released on 20th July as a self-release.

Widdendream is featuring Mei-Lee Chen on vocals and Alex Clark on synthesizers. Their sound is mainly inspired by 80s underground music and bands like Kirlian Camera, New Order and The Cure and artists that were on the 4AD and Projekt record labels. Mei-Lee has extensive experience as a solo artist. Her beautiful and evocative voice perfectly captures the mood on each track. Classic synthesizers including the Roland Juno 60 and Ensoniq ESQ-1 and newer synths like the DSI OB6 and MFB Dominion 1 were used to create this music. Their songs range from dreamy and ethereal to minimal, dark, melodic and danceable.

Recording for In The Night began back in January of 2016. Multiple singers came and went and progress ground to a halt with each departure. Finally, Alex met Mei-Lee in the fall of 2017. With the final piece of the puzzle in place recording began anew and the album was completed in early 2018.

In the player below you can listen to the gloomy "End Of An Age". It's a perfect example of what you can expect on their debut album. Rather distant, ethereal and dreamy vocals are in a nice cohesion with rather upbeat danceable, yet in a way minimalistic artificial pulsating beats and ghastly gothic synths.

In The Night can be pre-ordered at this location.
