The debut album from Canada's The Black Sorcery is a truly satanic sounding experience. From the beginning of the album, "Ancient Dialects Of Wind", you're introduced to vocals from the very depths of hell. The thing that defines this album is its out of this world guttural growns of unrelenting madness. This is a record so brutal that it will make your insides hurt. Don't believe me? Listen to "Seizures" and you'll see what I mean.

This album isn't for the faint of heart. You honestly feel like you need to take a break halfway through from how overwhelming this can be if you're not used to this sort of onslaught. This is the sound of Lovecraftian terror made real. It's not a terribly long album but by the end you'll feel as if you just ran a marathon with bare feet over broken glass. Its the sonic equivalent of drinking boiling hot bleach.

The Black Sorcery manages to make a lot of death metal sound like pop rock by comparison. I can't remember the last time I heard something so unholy yet so oddly pleasing. It's disgusting and exhausting and at the same time leaves you wanting more. Fans of the unnaturally sick will love this abomination of sound.
