Endezzma came from Hell to this disgusting world by Trondr Nefas of Urgehal (R.I.P) along with Morten Shax. There have been many changes in the line-up since these guys begin their journey, but the band never suffered a kind of "lost" in their originality. These stellar black metallers released on 31st March another masterpiece called The Arcane Abyss. Their second full-lenght album after Erotikk Nekrosis, released in 2012, the same year that marked the death of Trondr Nefas, and burning all the road along with the recent EP Morbus Divina.
Already when I was listening to this album for the first time it hit me deep and I thought, wow! How powerful and venomous these guys are. So I was getting ready to face the day and I decided to choose one of the songs randomly and went out into the streets. The intro is a glimpse of the geniality yet to come, short and without annoying elements, it perfectly serves its function that brings us "Malferno". This very song made me blindly fall in love with the album. Those grunts plus the distinctive guitar riffs and fast tempo are insane! Hail thyself! So "Malferno" pierced my soul. Morten Shax with his eternal and insane lust engages us in ecstasy. The Arcane Abyss is a powerful album, the time that the band took to release it is diluted in the magnificence of the tracks, perfect structure, symbiotic synchronicity between Morten’s vocals and the instruments.
Endezzma has always had an unmistakable and attractive Norwegian style, but if I can compare these guys with a good Whiskey... I can surely say, only the years can bring us a unique and refined flavor. These guys remain true to their primordial style, yet they ventured further into the inclusion of distinctive elements like a clarinet in "Serpent Earth", making the music even more interesting, dynamic and absolutely awesome. I cannot identify a single song where Malphas (lead guitar) and Nihil (rhythm guitar) have low performances. They are spotless along with Aske and his brutal bass and Skriu on the unstoppable drums. In “Sick Kulta Lucifer” we have Sorath Northgrov (ex-Beastcraft) as a guest vocalist.
My favorite tracks are "Malferno", "The Arcane Abyss", "Gates Of Mephisto", "Morbus Divina", "Serpent Earth" and "Grave So Deep". Whoever appreciates Watain, Enthroned, Urgehal or similar,... this is for true black metal lovers, Endezzma is here and is one of your masters. Long life to these Lucifer's sons! One of my top 10 albums of 2017 for sure.
