Doom metal entity Akem Manah have shared the second single/lyric video, "The Burning Of John Briggs", from their upcoming album, Threnodies, due on 3 April via Black Lion Records.
Following the harrowing introduction set by the debut single "The End Of Earnest Hollow" (available HERE alongside more information about the upcoming album), the new track dives deeper into the band's bleak, ritualistic sonic mythology.
Carried by crushing doom riffs, scorched atmospheres and a funereal sense of inevitability, the track embodies the band's talent for transforming narrative despair into monolithic heaviness.
The band comments on the track: "A carnival strongman consumed by conviction and guilt, John Briggs mistakes the apocalypse for revival. What begins as religious fervour becomes a carnival of fire and delirium. The track is fevered, portraying faith's final transformation into spectacle and ash". Link
