Madrid (Spain)-based neoclassical artist Antinoë has signed a record deal with Dark Essence Records. The Norwegian label never been afraid to venture into the outskirts of the metal scene and work with bands and artists that are doing something different and special but still have a strong link to metal music.
From the mountains of Madrid, Antinoë emerges as a one-woman project that crafts haunting, piano-driven music with ethereal vocals, weaving neoclassical elegance, symphonic rock and the dark atmospheres of black metal into deeply melancholic soundscapes that explore themes of loss, yearning, and self-reflection.
Antinoë had this to say about joining the Dark Essence Records roster: "I'm excited to share the news that Antinoë has joined the Norwegian label Dark Essence Records. Their vision and understanding of music resonate strongly with mine, and I couldn't feel more supported and inspired to embark on this journey together. It's a privilege to share a roster with bands I deeply admire. The future shines bright—so let the shadows unfold."
Since its inception in 2021, Antinoë — led by Teresa Marraco — has embraced a personal approach to darkness through piano compositions that intertwine with a rich, resonant voice. Her collaborations include black metal acts such as Coldborn, Elffor, Balmog, and Empty. She also recorded the piano/keyboards for Dimmu Borgir's live performance of "Det Nye Riket" at Beyond the Gates Festival. In 2023, she debuted with Whispers From The Dark Past, a celebrated acoustic reimagining of 90s Norwegian black metal classics that helped define her unique style. More news and new music is expected soon. Stay tuned. Link
