Bella Eterna, the new project of Spanish producer JG Outsider and vocalist Gerd Van Geel of Belgian goth/industrial band The Arch, has released its Fire EP through Strict Tempo. The EP features three new tracks of dark synthpop and 80s gothic inspiration and a dancefloor-oriented remix from Alpha Sect.
In 2020, Murcia-based Spanish producer JG Outsider officially remixed the song "Phantom Chase" by Belgian 80s band The Arch, led by vocalist Gerd Van Geel. In the process, JG Outsider created a version of the masterful "Ribdancer" (90s Antler-Subway) for a tribute compilation in 2023. The two experienced musicians then decided to embark on the composition of Pornographic Shadows, an extraordinary album with a dark synth and new wave spirit, carried by Gerd's extraordinary vocals.
The result is a brilliant partnership between the legendary singer of The Arch and JG Outsider, a producer with more than thirty years of experience who also carried an important weight in the Spanish scene of the 90s. JG Outsider is an artist in constant evolution, and after so much time, he returns to his roots to the style that influenced him in the 80s so much to start as a musician and producer.
Bella Eterna has recently shared a stunning video for the "Mysterious Beauty" track, directed by vocalist Gerd Van Geel, who also directs videos for music festivals such as Tomorrowland. The haunting aesthetic features an ethereal figure in gold embellishments, contrasted with a romantic forest setting that enchants a gothic fantasy realm. The song is an ode to dark romanticism with a distinct 80s alternative sound modernised with JG Outsider's electronic production. With charged post-punk guitars, pulsing synths, and powerful vocals that soar into stratospheric dimensions, this duo's embrace of genres past fuses with fresh inspiration for future sounds. Link
