Australian symphonic metal and gothic rock ensemble Carmeria present their new single “Unto The Dawn”, accompanied by an official music video and serving as the second preview of their forthcoming third studio album Ex Cathedra, set for independent release on 30 October.
Where the first single “Caelira” opened the gates with gothic grandeur, "Unto The Dawn" shifts the emotional centre toward compassion and solidarity. Inspired by the band’s own experiences supporting loved ones — and by the growing online community that has found comfort in their music — the track stands as an anthem of care, resilience and shared strength. Its message is clear: we cannot erase another person’s suffering, but we can help carry the weight through love and support.
Musically, "Unto The Dawn" blends sombre melodic passages with uplifting crescendos, weaving Carmeria’s signature orchestral sweep with a warm, human core. It is an enthralling continuation of the aesthetic and thematic world Ex Cathedra is shaping — one that balances shadow and light with deliberate emotional force.
Both the new video and the earlier “Caelira” (check it out over HERE) visual were designed and developed by Jordan von Grae, produced by von Grae and Mishka Bobrov, and directed, filmed and edited by Greg Oroth. Shot at VAMP by Lisa McGuigan in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, the videos expand the album’s visual identity: a gothic, vampiric masquerade adorned with glittering masks, lavish garments and sweeping cloaks — a theatrical counterpart to Carmeria’s evolving sound.
