Progressive/cinematic metal quintet Disconnected Souls has signed with Layered Reality Productions (LRP). Following the digital release of its debut album Fragments Of Consciousness at the beginning of this year, both LRP and the band are now working on a physical release of the debut album slated for the second half of 2024. New music videos are also due to land over the coming months, with a special new and original single planned for this winter.
Fletch (the band's founder) had this to say: "This project has evolved a lot since I originally conceptualised it, but the one thing that hasn't is my goal to work with the brightest and best to deliver quirky and chaotic music, and this is exactly what we're going to continue to do! I'm not one of those people who's always dreamed of being on a label, but having seen the hard work and talent behind the LRP, they couldn't be a better fit and it's going to be a pleasure and privilege to work closely with Tom and co moving forward! They're a talented group who are working tirelessly to support the progressive scene. I am very excited for the future of this partnership!"
Tom de Wit of Layered Reality Productions comments: "After releasing their album Fragments Of Consciousness digitally earlier this year, it was clear to us at LRP that we wanted to work with this band. And the feeling was (fortunately) absolutely mutual!"
Disconnected Souls emerged in 2018 out of a desire to incorporate and blend the three great pillars of music: electronic, classical and metal. Following its debut EP, Warring Elements, in 2020, the band has since released a diverse array of singles leading up to the debut album. The quintet, based out of Chester, England, strive to create a distinctive sound that draws upon the depths of metal while playing with tones and textures. Each member brings a diverse range of musical interests to the table, and the resulting sound encompasses various instrumental and vocal styles. Disconnected Souls takes its name from the growing disconnect between humans, both from each other and within ourselves, as well as the increasing rift with the natural world. Link
