German dark electro master Extize released "Nu Metal Saved Me". This new single from the upcoming time-travelling album DeLorean 666, which will be released on 20 May via darkTunes Music Group, invites you to grab your Discman and bang your head like it's the late 90s.
This track pays homage to the legends of nu metal like Korn and Limp Bizkit and industrial icons like Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. It fuses crushing riffs with the dirty, dark vibe of electro-goth industrial.
Extize comments: "I grew up in the golden age of nu metal, with bands like Korn, Marilyn Manson, System Of A Down, Static-X, and Slipknot blasting in my headphones while I walked to school - Eastpak backpack covered in band patches, skateboard under my arm. That music gave me strength when nothing else made sense… and now, for the very first time, I’ve tried to bring that raw power into the Extize universe (for those who don't know my project, it's more industrial electro music, and this is the first nu metal oriented song I wrote). My new single and video "Nu Metal Saved Me" is not just a song—it’s a piece of my heart, my youth, and my rage. It’s my loudest, dirtiest thank-you to the genre that raised me. And yeah, I’m super proud of this last single before my new album DeLorean 666 drops!
Throw on your skater baggy pants, sling your Eastpak backpack over your shoulder, and relive the era when nu metal was more than just music—it was a way of life. The previously released single, "Gothy Cool", can be found over HERE. Link
