The USA-based electro-industrial ac Flesh Field, renowned for its widescreen cinematic sound achieved by blending synths, percussion, guitar and sampled choir, resurrected in November 2023 with Voice Of The Echo Chamber, has dropped the first track, "Soldier (Leaether Strip Remix)", from its impending album-length EP, Voice Of Reason, which acts as a companion piece to 2023's release and will come out on 26 April via Metropolis Records. It contains seven brand new tracks, one of which features guest vocalist Jennifer Parkin of Ayria, along with five remixes from the current album by genCAB, Leæther Strip, System Syn, Terminal and Panic Lift.

Flesh Field was formed in 1996 by Ian Ross in Columbus, Ohio. Its debut album, Viral Extinction, was released three years later, earning glowing reviews for its brutal and aggressive sound, while some of its songs were subsequently remixed by several contemporaries (including scene leaders Covenant) and issued together with some new songs on the album-length Redemption EP in 2000.

Highlighting the band's compositional skills with bombastic symphonic elements and intricate synth and percussion programming, 2001's Belief Control solidified Flesh Field's status as a band to be reckoned with. It also led to the group signing to Metropolis Records for the US release of its album, Strain. With new layers of acoustic and electronic percussion, guitar and choral effects added into the mix, these elements resulted in an epic and anthemic feel to a record acclaimed by fans and critics alike.

Then, silence. Flesh Field lay dormant for almost two decades, even as numerous tracks from its catalogue were placed in the soundtracks of films including The Mill, TV shows such as True Blood and video games like Project Gotham Racing. Voice Of The Echo Chamber suddenly appeared in 2023 and is a concept work since each of its ten tracks represents stages of political radicalisation and violence. Link
