After more than five years of silence, German industrial metallers Devil-M return with a devastating new album, Titanomachie. Much like their previous release, Astharat, the band delivers a hellish sonic experience—this time dedicated to the Titans of Greek mythology. The concept is destruction incarnate: gods fall, Olympus crumbles, and any notion of a happy ending is banished from the very beginning. Across eleven tracks, there is no glimmer of hope—only darkness, fire, and fog. And truthfully, would we expect anything else from Devil-M? Titanomachie is a frustrating yet mesmerising journey, and one that demands to be heard.

Since their debut Kannst Du Sterben (2011), Devil-M have descended deeper with each release into mysterious realms of darkness and inner exile, expressed in ever-shifting forms. This time, the concept is mythological—but not in the heroic sense of Homeric epics. Instead, it is complete annihilation, intertwined with inner turmoil and nihilistic tendencies. The result is a unique brand of post-apocalyptic industrial metal, steeped in gothic atmospherics and built upon a dark electro foundation.

Cinematic in scope, Titanomachie transports the listener far from reality into a world saturated with emotion and shadow. The opening track, "Sisyphos", brief though it may be, immediately signals that this is something far beyond ordinary industrial metal. Vocals range from whispered persuasion to extreme screams, evoking the inner conflict of a fractured psyche. Atmospheric dark electro elements cling tightly to relentless guitar riffs that strike with controlled brutality. Tracks like the haunting "Gott", the bleak "Komplex", and the suffocating "Olympus Ardet" showcase how industrial metal can be reshaped into something dynamic, intriguing, and utterly compelling.

Devil-M deliver crushing guitar riffs, merciless drumming, and lavish, cinematic atmospheres that set them apart from conventional industrial, gothic or NDH acts. Ambient passages allow the listener to catch their breath—sometimes perhaps too much, as the thread momentarily loosens—but they add to the album’s cinematic breadth and variety. While not dance-oriented, certain rhythms irresistibly provoke movement. Just listen to "Imperium" or the guitar-driven "Prometheus", and you’ll understand. The second half of the album leans more toward the mystical, immersive, almost gothic, without losing any grit, with standout tracks "Apocalypto", "Tartarus", "Zyklopenkinder", and the magnificent closer "Heaven"—some of the finest songs Devil-M have ever created.

Produced with precision, mixed by Elmar Schmidt (Centhron) and mastered by Kristof Bathory (Dawn Of Ashes), Titanomachie is both original and richly layered. Influences from Fear Factory, Psyclon Nine, Marilyn Manson, Godflesh, Saints Of Eden, and Ministry can be heard, yet Devil-M skillfully blend them with elements of German electro-goth, select dark ambient textures, and their own uncompromising vision. The result is a striking work of art—an album that cements Titanomachie as one of Devil-M’s most powerful statements to date. Cinematic, suffocating, and unforgettable: Devil‑M’s Titanomachie drags you into the abyss.
