Atmospheric black metal conjurers Ghost Horizon have returned with a new single/lyric video, "Void Plague". Ferocious, visceral screams and frenetic, tremolo-picked riffs dominate the soundscape. Gloomy, ominous clean vocals occasionally reach through the spectral mists and add a sense of foreboding to the fury.
Guitarist and bassist Dan Stollings comments: "After taking an extended hiatus, Uraeus and I felt the time was right to create some new material. We agreed that teaming up once again was the best creative decision we could make for the band, and we are very excited to share with you our latest effort; 'Void Plague'!"
Ghost Horizon was formed in 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona. The band has received recognition for its uniquely emotional approach to atmospheric black metal and its ability to add fresh, forward-thinking elements to the genre without losing its essence. From 2015 to 2021, Ghost Horizon released three albums and underwent several line-up changes. After being on hiatus since 2021, the band has returned to the 2016 line-up that created its debut album Astral Possession, featuring guitarist/bassist Dan Stollings and Uraeus (drums/vocals/additional instruments), both of whom were briefly members of Ossilegium (known at the time as Empyreus). With renewed creative energy, Ghost Horizon is ready to forge into 2024 and beyond. Link
