Doom/death metal outfit Grain Of Pain have unveiled a new single taken from the forthcoming studio album, Behind Us All, due on 27 March through Noble Demon.
The track, titled "The Offering (feat. Eemeli Bodde)", arrives accompanied by an animated music video that visually captures the song's haunting atmosphere.
As the follow-up to the first single, "To Burn Inside" (available HERE alongside more information), "The Offering (feat. Eemeli Bodde)" provides a further glimpse into the sonic direction of the upcoming record. Blending heavy riffs with melodic depth and a dark, immersive mood, the track highlights the band's dynamic approach to doom/death metal while continuing the intensity introduced on the album's first preview.
About the new single, Timo Solonen comments: "You will do everything for your children. Try to help them in this world. This is about sacrifices you are willing to do so the younger generation can have a better life. Still not sure if you can do enough. Juho's solo is really spot on, and Eemeli Bodde's growls are as powerful as we ever hoped. This is melodic doom at its best. The atmosphere keeps you inside the story the whole time."
Eemeli Bodde, who lends his voice to the track, adds: "I'm not a big doom guy, but I remember clearly the first time Timo sent me a demo for 'The Offering'. The night was dark and silent, and I felt a certain type of melancholy listening to the track. He asked me to do the vocals, and I hesitated a bit because this style was really unfamiliar to me, but in the end, I'm really happy about taking on the challenge. The track turned out to be a beautiful piece of simple but impactful art that I'm sure melodic doom fans will enjoy!" Link
