Black metallers Imha Tarikat have unleashed another video single, "The Day I Died (Reborn Into Flames)", from their upcoming album, Confessing Darkness, slated for release on 20 June via Lupus Lounge.

Imha Tarikat's mastermind, Kerem Yilmaz, reveals: "With the song 'The Day I Died', I am publicly sharing my past contemplation of suicide for the first time and reflecting on a dark time in my life. At the time, I was clinically depressed and saw no hope in my future. Suddenly, something ignited inside of me, and I began fighting my way back into life. Through tears, violence, grief, and anxiety, I finally found my place by rising above the voices that tried to pull me down and by focusing on that one whisper that told me to fight. That voice grew louder and louder. Since then, I have not looked back. Reborn into the flames, I set everything ablaze with passion upon the path that I walk now".

This time around, Imha Tarikat's lyrical and musical mastermind, Kerem Yilmaz, aka Ruhsuz Cellât, has created the whole album in a studio environment, which benefits the sound. He has also opted mostly for shorter, sharper assaults. The tracks on Confessing Darkness come straight to the point and let go when they have spent their devastating power.

Imha Tarikat has matured, and Confessing Darkness clearly demonstrates that. Yet although some of the youthful sonic violence has waned while experience and hard-won musical knowledge are waxing, the German black metal outfit has only gained conviction and strength. Beyond doubt, Confessing Darkness marks a milestone in Imha Tarikat's rise.
