Germany's Lantlôs capture the feeling of picking flowers in the sunshine with their new music video "Daisies", the first advance single from their forthcoming album Nowhere In Between Forever, due for release on 3 April via Prophecy Productions.
Lantlôs' mastermind, Markus Skye, comments: "With 'Daisies' I am offering the first glimpse into my upcoming project Nowhere In Between Forever, or NIB4E, which is an album that I rather view as a collection of songs or some kind of digital mixtape. The first single is built upon the brighter side of life. It is a song about a sunny day, about listening to your music on a Discman, teenage 90s nostalgia, skate mags, emo feelings, and meeting your Valentine. While it is one of the rather traditional tunes on this album, it comes with a catchy Nu Metal tune and a petite, almost poppy character. I hope that this song brings you lightness and energy. And that other, stranger feeling of an unreal, weirdly plastic, and digital vibe as well".
Nowhere In Between Forever offers a spiritual journey into the glittering world of the Nineties, when everything seemed somehow easier and full of possibility. The record presents a collection of standout songs rooted in the contemporary Lantlôs sound, enriched with elements drawn from the digital sonic sphere that began expanding rapidly during the final decade of the last millennium. Yet it would be a disservice to dismiss the album as mere nostalgia. As Skye notes, a deliberately crafted hollow, plastic undertone subtly casts a foreboding shadow of darker times ahead.
These musical twists and turns bridge the easy-going, seemingly sunny, and even pop-inflected alternative rock and metal tracks with the darker past of Lantlôs. Followers of this exceptional project have long grown accustomed to the ever-shifting nature and constant evolution of Markus Skye's bubbling creativity — a defining part of the band's charm.
With Nowhere In Between Forever, Lantlôs reaffirm both the stylistic direction set by their last two albums and their remarkable ability to craft captivating tunes and beautiful melodies with almost unsettling ease. Trigger warning: Nowhere In Between Forever contains only beautiful killers — no fillers. Link
