Belgium’s legendary electro‑industrial provocateurs Lords Of Acid continue their 2026 resurgence with the release of their new single “Dream Boy”—a shadow‑soaked descent into addiction, longing, and the seductive pull of oblivion. The band describe the track as “a dark trip through the streets of Necropolis, where addiction feels like salvation and nightmares wear a beautiful disguise.”
Built as a dialogue between despair and temptation, “Dream Boy” pits a fractured inner voice against the ethereal presence of vocalist Carla Harvey, who delivers her lines like a dangerous angel drifting through smoke and neon. The band emphasise that the song avoids moralising; instead, it seeks to illuminate the emotional voids that drive people toward self‑destruction.
“‘Dream Boy’ isn’t about judging addiction,” they explain. “It’s about the pain, loneliness and emptiness that push people toward it. We wanted the verses to feel raw and claustrophobic—like a panic attack—while the reggae‑tinged chorus floats like a hallucination you never want to wake from. The line ‘Dream boy, keep on floating in the sun’ sounds warm at first, until you realise it’s about someone slowly disappearing in plain sight.”
Despite its darkness, the track carries a thread of human connection and the search for a “real high” that doesn’t destroy the seeker.
“Dream Boy” follows the band’s recent single “Karaoke Superstar” (check it out over HERE), a hyper‑sexual, neon‑splattered collaboration with US vocalist and DJ Princess Superstar. That track saw Lords Of Acid in full theatrical mode, blending industrial, metal, acid dance, fetish‑club aesthetics, and the absurdity of pop stardom into a chaotic, tongue‑in‑cheek anthem.
Both singles will appear on the group’s long‑awaited seventh studio album, due in late 2026 via Metropolis Records. The record promises an array of guest vocalists alongside the commanding presence of Carla Harvey, who joined the band in early 2025 after her tenure with metal outfit Butcher Babies. Her arrival has been widely celebrated, earning her the title of the band’s reigning Acid Queen.
Meanwhile, Lords Of Acid remain relentless on the road. Their “Cheeky Freaky Tour” is currently tearing across the United States and will continue through the end of May, bringing their signature blend of provocation, humour, and high‑voltage hedonism to stages nationwide. Link
