Renowned for her powerhouse vocals and magnetic stage presence, American singer Lucia Cifarelli has long been a defining voice of industrial rock. Best known for her pivotal role in KMFDM, with whom she has been a creative force since the early 2000s, Cifarelli now steps into the spotlight with a striking new release: an EDM/electro remix of her anthem “Girls Like Me”.
Before joining KMFDM, Cifarelli founded the alternative rock outfit Drill, which made their mark in the mid-’90s with one album and tours alongside Stabbing Westward, Marilyn Manson, Genitorturers, and Gang Of Four. Her partnership with KMFDM mastermind Sascha Konietzko in 2000 cemented her place in the industrial scene, where she has contributed as both vocalist and songwriter across twelve albums to date.
Beyond her work with KMFDM, Cifarelli has carved out a distinctive solo career. Since 2007, she has released three solo albums, including I Am Eye (Metropolis Records, 2021). The empowering single “Girls Like Me” opened that record and quickly became one of her signature tracks. Now, the song has been reimagined by alleykat, a progressive house and melodic techno DJ based between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The remix amplifies the track’s anthemic energy, delivering a fresh, club-ready dimension that underscores Cifarelli’s versatility as an artist.
The remix of “Girls Like Me” is available now, and you should give it a listen right below. Link
