West Virginia (USA)-based dark folk metal act Nechochwen presents "spelewithiipi" – the second single and title track from their upcoming album, which will be released via Nordvis Produktion on 9 May. "spelewithiipi" is the sound of rivers that remember, of trails worn by centuries of footsteps, of stories whispered through leaves and stone.
Nechochwen comments: "I have always lived along the same waterway – spelewithiipi. Its beautiful valley has been home to indigenous people for countless generations. Whether driving over it, walking its shores, or just being near it, we give thanks and tribute through song to these mighty waters that once saw busy groups in twenty-five-foot dugout canoes cruising between mound sites and river camps."
For over a decade, Nechochwen has bridged the gap between history and mythology, folklore and personal journey. With "spelewithiipi", the West Virginian duo returns to their earliest roots – trading the weight of distortion for the delicate power of dark folk. Listen now to the album's title track "spelewithiipi", and if you've missed it, over HERE is the previously released single "Precipice Of Stone". Link
