Italian darkwave trio Neila Invo just released a brand new single "Madonne Elettriche". This is the last single released with the previous line-up. The band also released a video clip for the single, which was shot by Ema Kaiser, a talented photographer who has previously worked with Ash Code.
Neila Invo's music is a combination of the modern darkwave style infused with a vein of an 80s old-school goth sound and a note of grit stemming from punk. Their first album, Alienation, was released by the German label Young and Cold Records in June 2022.
The new single, "Madonne Elettriche", is inspired especially by the illuminated Madonnas of the alleys of Naples. The band comments: "We imagined that in their stillness observe what happens around them, judging the unseemly behavior of passers. In the video, Our Lady is a punitive figure, she creeps into dreams creating nightmares for sinful people, then appearing to them and striking them by lightning. The melody has a funeral procession rhythm opened by a lugubrious organ, all leading to an almost grotesque parade."
The mixing of the song was edited by Nico Giordano, and the mastering was done by Daniel Hallhuber, who used analogue and digital processes at the Young and Cold Records Studios. Link
