Slovenian experimental electronic group PureH has released a new full-length, Tetragram, via PharmaFabrik. Renowned for its distinctive approach to sound manipulation, PureH blends ambient sequences with immersive sonic textures, creating a transformative journey through deep, ever-shifting soundscapes.

Tetragram invites listeners into a multidimensional exploration of perception, nature, and the passage of time. The album's seven tracks weave an intricate narrative, blending field recordings and ambient textures into soundscapes that evoke transformation and fragility. From the hypnotic calm of "Slumber", where shoreline waves and ethereal tones lull the listener into a dreamlike state, to the celestial presence of "Metatron" and the haunting resonance of "Polynya", which reflects the melting Arctic ice and its fleeting oases of life, the album captures moments of profound introspection.

The title Tetragram, paired with the cumulonimbus cloud on the cover, symbolizes cycles of creation, decay, and renewal. Through its immersive sonic journey, Tetragram offers a meditation on humanity's impact on the natural world and the transcendental connection between the ephemeral and the eternal. PureH crafts an auditory experience that encourages listeners to confront the unknown, linger in the liminal, and discover their place within the vast, interconnected cosmos.

Active on the alternative and electronic music scene since 1993, PureH - in its current incarnation - is the moniker of its founder Simon Šerc, a Slovenian sound and video artist, recording engineer, producer, and creator of projects such as Cadlag and Biodukt, as well as the head of the PharmaFabrik label. Šerc's work spans music production, audiovisual installations and sound art, frequently exploring themes of technology, dystopia, nature, and human perception, reflected in both sound and visual aesthetics.

Renowned for its dark, atmospheric soundscapes, his project PureH blends ambient, noise, and post-industrial genre elements, often exploring abstract, cinematic themes and creating immersive audio experiences through intricate sound design and layered textures. Live drummer Vili Žigon adds dynamic energy to PureH's performances, bridging the organic and electronic in their sound.

As pioneers of the "ambientcore" genre in the 1990s, PureH has collaborated with international artists and regularly integrates music with multimedia, producing audiovisual performances and installations. By incorporating field recordings and unconventional sounds, they push the boundaries of Slovenian electroacoustic music while offering engaging live experiences. Link
