Portland’s shadow‑drenched post‑punk/darkwave outfit Shadowlands continue shaping their kaleidoscopic sound with “Let’s Fall Apart”, the second single from their forthcoming album 004, due 24 April via Seeing Red Records. Known for blending impassioned post‑punk, introspective darkwave, and ’80s‑inflected horror synth, the band pushes further into emotional and sonic tension with this new track.

Following the first single “Burdens” — a brooding meditation on grief and memory (you can still check it out over HERE) — “Let’s Fall Apart” offers a sharper, more stripped‑down counterpoint. Where its predecessor lingered in reflection, this new single confronts the beauty of imperfection and the privilege of ageing in a culture obsessed with eternal youth. What began as a mood — a reaction to the pressure of homogenised perfection — evolved into a track that pushes back with force.

Intentionally leaner than much of the album, the song builds tension before collapsing into a mantra of “let’s fall apart”, inviting listeners to embrace the visible signs of living: change, wear, vulnerability, and the honesty that comes with them.

Shadowlands’ signature palette remains unmistakable — sombre dreamscapes, spine‑tingling arpeggios, and riffs that sear and soar. Their music is immersive and infectious, anchored by commanding vocal performances that cut through the haze with clarity and emotional weight.

With 004, the band sharpen their identity while widening their emotional reach, positioning themselves comfortably alongside artists such as Chelsea Wolfe, Esben And The Witch, Emma Ruth Rundle, and Darkher, yet maintaining a voice distinctly their own. Link
