Swedish industrial metal institution Pain erupts back onto the scene with “I Don’t Give A Fukk”, a compact blast of mechanised fury that distils the confusion, hostility and absurdity of modern life into three minutes of pure confrontation. Driven by grinding guitars, a punishing electronic pulse and Peter Tägtgren’s unmistakable vocal bite, the track barrels toward a chorus engineered for collective catharsis — loud, blunt and impossible to ignore.
Lyrically, “I Don’t Give A Fukk” offers an unfiltered snapshot of a world drowning in political theatre, paranoia, manipulation and fractured realities. Tägtgren fires off imagery of conspiracies, hypocrisy and manufactured division, capturing the sensation of being surrounded by noise while trust erodes and certainty collapses. Instead of searching for answers, the song delivers release: a refusal to play along with the madness.
Tägtgren comments: “I’m really curious to see how people react, and I’m stoked about the new single. As most of you know, I always try not to repeat myself, and this time I’m sure people will be wondering, ‘What the hell is going on?’ Sebastian and I wrote the song together, and lyrically I’m throwing my view of the world and of the last ten years right in your face. Hold on tight and get ready to smile.”
Co‑written with his son and Pain drummer Sebastian Tägtgren, the single continues the duo’s evolving creative partnership, pushing the project into yet another unexpected corner of its sonic identity.
For nearly three decades, Pain has operated without boundaries — welding heavy metal, industrial electronics, infectious hooks, dark humour and Tägtgren’s singular worldview into a sound that remains both immediate and unpredictable. Following the release of Pain’s ninth studio album I Am, “I Don’t Give A Fukk” strips the formula down to its most direct elements: a crushing groove, a provocative message and a hook that refuses to leave quietly.
The world may be burning, but Pain are clearly turning the volume up. Watch the official video for “I Don’t Give A Fukk” right below. Link
