Gothic industrial duo Death By Love return with their striking new single and video “Królowa Świata” — a haunting Polish‑language piece that frames love as a sovereign force: vast, transformative, and capable of reshaping destiny while carrying the ever‑present shadow of heartbreak. It is a song where devotion becomes both crown and burden.
“Królowa Świata” (“Queen of the World”) unfolds as an intimate soliloquy, a quiet dialogue with one’s own wounded interior. Vocalist Inga explains the song’s emotional core: “By framing the verses in the second person — ‘You know how many days you waited…’ — I appear to be addressing someone else. Yet, in truth, these words are the whispers of my own subconscious, trying to break through the defensive armour I had built around myself.”
Both originally from Poland, Peter and Inga set out to craft their first track entirely in their native language. Production began in an unusual setting: while Peter was touring the U.S. East Coast as a tech for Clan Of Xymox, working from a portable rig and building the song around vocal takes sent by Inga. Inspired by the nightly shows, Peter recorded the initial guitar parts using Ronny Moorings’ Rickenbacker, while Mario Usai (Clan Of Xymox bassist) contributed the driving bassline — recorded spontaneously in Peter’s hotel room.
Back in his home studio, Peter refined the composition, pairing new vocal takes with trance‑infused synth sequences to heighten tension and emotional release. The duo then shaped a music video around an intentionally campy vampire love story — a playful counterpoint to the song’s introspective weight, blending gothic aesthetics with cinematic melodrama.
With “Królowa Świata,” Death By Love embrace vulnerability, cultural roots and a touch of dark humour, delivering a track that feels both deeply personal and unmistakably theirs.
