German gothic/darkwave cult act Silke Bischoff has released a strikingly unsettling music video for “Tears”, the previously unreleased title track of their upcoming compilation Tears – A Collection Of Silke Bischoff Songs. The video offers a macabre visual counterpart to one of the band’s long‑hidden recordings, now finally emerging from the archives.

Frontman Axel Kretschmann describes the track’s resurrection as a meticulous process: “First, we unearthed this track, then we diligently listened to it, and finally we decided to reconstruct it piece by piece.”
He adds that the video’s concept grew from an unexpected spark: “Ronny Zeisberg from wieglas found a doll. This inspired us, and more and more dolls were added. The production lasted months — at one point I considered becoming a doll repairer. Now you can see for yourselves how it all turned out.”

The compilation marks the first step in restoring Silke Bischoff’s legacy to the public. Founded in 1990 by Axel Kretschmann and Felix Flaucher, the project became one of the defining names of the European goth and darkwave underground. With Tears – A Collection Of Silke Bischoff Songs, Dependent Records begins the long‑awaited process of making the band’s catalogue accessible once again.

The album will be released on 25 September via Dependent Records. Link
