UK gothic rock newcomers Vampire Valentine present “In The Dark”, the debut single from their forthcoming self‑titled album, set for release on 28 August via Morella Records. Arriving with a striking lyric video, the track serves as the band’s first official statement — a declaration of intent built on the foundations of pure, uncompromised gothic rock.
Formed in 2025 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Vampire Valentine is the duo of Michael Longstaff and Kieron Wright, whose sound draws deeply from the classic post‑punk and early goth tradition. With production support from Ricky Conover and Tony Gunk, the band crafts a style rooted in booming basslines, atmospheric guitar work, and a brooding melodic sensibility that feels both familiar and fiercely contemporary.
Before signing to Morella Records, the duo introduced themselves with the Dry Remains EP, followed in 2026 by the label‑released Pale Dawn EP — works that hinted at their potential but kept their full vision just out of reach. “In The Dark” marks the moment that vision comes into focus.
This is gothic rock built from the ground up — no shortcuts, no compromises, no dilution. Just shadow, pulse, and intent.
With their debut album on the horizon, Vampire Valentine steps confidently into the scene, ready to carve out their place among the new generation of darkwave and gothic rock artists. Link
