German black metal outfit Verheerer has announced its third full-length, Urgewalt, slated for release on 4 April through Vendetta Records, and presented the first track, "Totenvolk".
Verheerer on "Totenvolk": "With 'Totenvolk' the band decided for the first song that was composed for Urgewalt to be their first single too. Written more than 4 years ago under the impression of the rising popularity of extremist right-wing parties all over the globe, the lyrics deliver a message that is today more current than ever before. Musically it combines the strengths of Verheerer's unique sound: Starting as a straightforward banger, but culminating in an epic, menacing finale, this song takes the listener on a ride through their very own cosmos".
The cover motive, once again realized by Misanthropic Art, picks up on this theme and impressively shows that every supposed victory in this bloody game must be paid for all the more dearly.
The sonorous title, Urgewalt, also underlines the musical direction: Whether furiously fast, slow and merciless, or hymnally triumphant - downfall awaits at the end, yet there is only one direction: onwards! Link
