Dark folk act Vrîmuot has unveiled an atmospheric video single featuring the eponymous track of their upcoming album, Lupus Viridis, scheduled for release on 5 December via Lupus Lounge.
Vrîmuot comments: "This is the green wolf, 'Lupus Viridis', a mythical creature and rather a symbolic animal that represents the magical process of universal changeability. It's a path that follows the tradition of alchemistic truth-seeking. The Green Man becomes a werewolf and bites the sun. He rises above his destiny and gives birth to a god in the golden blood. He embodies everything that I was, will be, and can never be. He is an ideal. A declaration of war. He spits onto our world. His world is sacred. This song is also unique on this album, because it was composed entirely on an Appalachian Dulcimer. To create the most authentic and archaic soundscape possible, percussion also includes various bones, skulls, and a ritual drum. It is also the only song that I have written in English. My intention was not so much to reach out to an international audience but rather to pay tribute to the origins of the 'Wolf Path' and to take advantage of the added value of this language's sound."
