Italian gothic/symphonic metallers Walk In Darkness have unveiled their fifth full‑length album, Gods Don’t Take Calls, alongside a brand‑new music video for “Last Siren (Revisited)”, directed by Lorenzo Avanzi of AVZ Studios.
The project is helmed by songwriter and guitarist Shaman, whose visionary compositions and philosophical lyrics form the backbone of the band’s identity. Vocalist Nicoletta Rosellini remains the sole visible member, serving as both the voice and face of Walk In Darkness, while the rest of the group perform hooded and masked—emphasising universal themes over personal identity.
Musically, Walk In Darkness weaves heavy guitars, orchestral arrangements, and melodic depth into a sound that has evolved across four previous albums. What began as pure gothic metal has transformed into unpredictable, emotive soundscapes that transcend genre boundaries.
Standing among Europe’s most conceptual and visionary acts, Walk In Darkness merges gothic grandeur with symphonic emotion, cinematic atmospheres, and poetic storytelling. Their faceless identity, prophetic lyrics, and symbolic imagery create a complete artistic universe—inviting listeners into a lucid, spiritual journey through the twilight of humanity.
Unlike traditional bands, Walk In Darkness constructs an immersive mythology: a fusion of sound and meaning resonating with contemporary existential themes. Within the global metal landscape, they align with artists such as Heilung, Wardruna, and Sleep Token in their commitment to crafting not only music but a distinct aesthetic and worldview.
Through this synthesis of philosophical depth and sonic intensity, Walk In Darkness stands as the spiritual avant‑garde of modern European metal—a cinematic reflection on humanity and its fading divinity. Link
