Amorphis, Textures, Poem: live at Mostovna, Nova Gorica, Slovenia, 31st March 2016 – live report

Live report written and all photos taken by: Tank

Here we are, first Terra Relicta's report for me, and I had the chance to start with Amorphis, not bad uh? To be honest, I enjoyed the opening act much more than headliners, but I think that the reason for that is a very great performance by the Dutch prog metal masters Textures rather than a bad performance from the Suomi melodic/melancholic metal masters. Mostovna did a briliant job booking some of the best band around, such as Paradise Lost, Children Of Bodom, Exodus, Crowbar, Agalloch and many others, that said, here it is the report:
First thing first, a lot of people around, very good to see so much audience these days, at 8pm the venue was full already, with Greeks Poem about to start, I really enjoyed the mix from grunge, nu metal and alternative attitude, very groovy, the greek band payed a little bit of insecurity, but not bad, really not bad. Time to change the stage, time to prog the shit out of Mostovna, here they are, Textures, one of the most incredible and tight bands I ever seen in my life, nice to see Daniel on stage again, after an horrible flu, the previous 5 shows he wasn't on stage with the band, let them playing an instrumental set. Good for us, vocals from another planet, they litteraly made the venue explode, musically and crowd wise, nice to see such a complete band, going to mellow and sweet melodies to darker and brutal section, glued by intense and various vocals, ending the set with masterpieces such "Laments Of An Icarus". I'm still thinking about how good they really are, incredible band, at that point the lights went down and it's Amorphis' time. The live set you expect from a band like Amorphis, a sort of greatest hits, filled with few new songs from the new album, Under The Red Cloud, played with genuine goodness, with remarklable tightness and great appearance. A great show filled with exclusive scenography, a charming frontman and an epic light work from the desk, at least an enjoyable live performance even if you aren't into melodic goth/doom metal, very nice to see them again, very nice to hang out with friendly guys from Textures after the show, they very kind and unique people. Enough said, let the pictures talk for me.
